about Lauren the Lawyer
I am a seasoned attorney with expertise in contracts, entertainment law, and international law. With a background as a corporate in-house attorney for esteemed Fortune 100 companies and experience as a Special Victims Unit Prosecutor, I bring a wealth of legal knowledge to the table.
My legal career began as a judicial clerk for The Honorable Alison Renee Lee of the Fifth Judicial Circuit, and I have since earned my Juris Doctor and Children’s Law Certificate from the University of South Carolina (now Joseph F. Rice) School of Law, graduating a semester early. I also hold a B.A., magna cum laude, from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and am a certified Technical Writer.
I actively contribute to the legal community as a member of the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division, serving on the Board of Editors for the S.C. Lawyer Magazine. Additionally, I am committed to educating young minds through my involvement in the Carolina Scholars Summer Program and volunteer work for the Civil Litigation Capstone Course for 3L students. I also play a role in judging mock trial competitions.
My leadership and dedication are further demonstrated through my roles within the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, where I currently serve as Secretary, and I will Chair the Division in the 2026-2027 bar year.
